Dear Families,

It was with heavy hearts that Summit 54, the Roaring Fork School District, and Summer Advantage USA made the tough decision to cancel the 2020 Summer Advantage program. With 150-250 children inside each school building, the partners agreed that social distancing would be extremely difficult.

Summit 54 has found an alternative way to support our young population through this difficult period with a new small group, outside tutoring program called Summer Success.  Each group of approximately nine students will meet with the same teacher and TA in a unique outdoor setting and no group will have contact with another.  All CDC and CDH guidelines will be strictly enforced.  

The FREE program will provide academic tutoring, social/emotional support, mindfulness practice, exercise, and healthy meals for youth in Basalt, Carbondale, and Glenwood Springs.  The program is being provided in partnership with Valley Settlement, whose staff is assisting families to register for the program.  Our mutual goal is to help students in the RFS District who have missed learning opportunities and social connections during school closures.

Summer Success will provide free small group tutoring in unique outdoor settings using an experienced, licensed teacher and a teaching assistant.  Summer Success will be held from 9 a.m. - 12 noon, Monday - Thursday, from June 22 - July 23.  The FREE program is being offered to children entering First through Fifth grades who live within the Roaring Fork Schools District on a first-come basis.   Space is limited.
